Lost in a desert..

In a desert I am left all alone
And directions to flee are unknown

I lost my friends I dont have a map
All I am left with is little sap

There is blazing heat all around
I could hear that agonal sound

Tongue is dry and so is the face
I am the only one running this race

Burning feet in the scorching heat
Had to bear all that beat

Feet are jammed, don't want to move
Eyes desperately searching for a grove

Am feeble, can faint any moment
Oh God why me for this torment?

Looks like there is an oasis
But no water..I am about to perish

Running behind that aloof mirage
I only possess a reprobate visage

Would I be able to cross this sea of sand
Cry for help but no helping hand

I keep going for another mile
With no hope I rest for a while

Who said in two-third of earth, water lies
When only sign of it I see is in my eyes

I can feel all my life in my psyche
Heard it happens when death is to strike

The sun is about to set and so is my life
I am distressed but repose is rife

It's dusk and my bed is sand dunes
Listening to the lullaby of windy tunes

Might be the last sleep.. the eternal one
I thank God for everything, living was fun

Lost in these thoughts embraces me sleep
Though famished, tired it was deep

The morning sunlight makes me awake
I am still alive for what sake?

Gosh that was a dreadful nightmare
But it has taught me and I am aware

I'll value dear life and won't complain
Will smile always even if in pain.

That is true
We do tend to forget all about life for things as petty as the payhike, the 10 buck savings, the traffic snarl, the fight with a friend; failing to realize that life is where all these things get their energy from.
Ironic, huh ??

"If I read a book and it makes my whole body so cold no fire can ever warm me, I know that is poetry."--Emily Dickinson
This is the favorite quote that "Lost in a desert..." brought to mind.
It is unfortunate that we strive to replenish the "deserts" that we feel haunt us at every step when all that we require for contentment is already there. It is the "desert" in our mind that blinds us from it.
Dear Rakesh,
I can not express in words the fulfillment (or the COLD) I feel when reading your poems.
They are truly magnificent.
"Who said in two-third of earth, water lies
When only sign of it I see is in my eyes..."
Such palpable turmoil...
Ah,the goosebumps...
Regards,
Ron
